I forgot to mention Lucca’s “time out” photo, the one with him in the chair and Krista standing in front. Krista uses short “time outs” with the boys when they have gone over the line. This was a one minute job for Lucca and he has already had enough of these to know that he doesn’t like it but probably what it is all about. But whatever works. Also you can see Lucca doing the rounds getting ice cream off Uncle Mike and Noni and Gramps.
Today we went to Half Moon Bay for their famous crab sandwiches, Non and Gramps and me, the two boys and Mike and Linda, who is off on Fridays. We did not go down onto the beach but I got a few good pics of the boys looking at the waves with Uncle Mike, the “baby whisperer”, as Auntie Lindy calls him. The boys adore him and although he is probably missing his quiet moments, he enjoys them a lot.
You may have noticed in one of the pictures noni’s first job in the mornings, going through her prayers. She wanted to be sure that I noticed the “plates” she was using for her coffee and breakfast snack, plastic lids. Elva Plumstead eat your heart out!
Noni is still doing a lot of sewing. She carries around a small sewing bag with supplies for whatever she is working on, usually something for the kitchen, like the tea towels we all have and the little ones that you hang on the door. She also does small crocheted cloths that you can use to wash dishes and she might be the last person in South City who is making these. I suspect she is supplying lots of people with these who used to make them .
Last night was the Giants game. Linda’s work group were a lot of fun, especially Roxanne. Jerry do you remember Mike McDermott from Loyola? He was in Jim’s class but rrecalled other priettos. He also had a connection with the wares as his dad and charlie’s dad shared a medical practice.
The stadium was packed and we had seats that looked right out into the bay. Unfortunately the Giants played a shocking game and lost, even though they are in first place. Uncle Mike was with us too but he was pretty restless as usually he is out there as a groundsmen sitting in the dugout next to the players, very close to the action. One of his friends was sitting in front row seats and was in view below us way down. Uncle Mike was texting him or yelling out to him through the whole game. I can see why he is in trouble with his phone bill.
Today is Day in the Park at Orange Avenue Park. Everyone is going but Noni and I will probably be down there first. I have been here for this once before and of course everyone knows Noni and Gramps. I will see lots of people that know me but who I may not recognize at first. Sometimes I will recognize them once they start talking and sometimes Noni will say who they are , but if not I will just have to ask later.
